Compassion
I’m so excited that our little family got together tonight and decided to sponsor a little boy from Uganda. Our boys, Judah (6) & Mace (4) said they wanted to help a little boy. We looked through several photos and bios, finally settling on Brighton. Brighton is 5 years old and lives with his grandmother. We took the time to show pictures on some of the blogs of the bloggers currently in Uganda. The boys saw the world map of where we live and how far away Brighton lives in Uganda.
We explained they had to carry water because it doesn’t come into their houses through pipes like in our apartment. They learned that many people’s floors are made of dirt. We talked about how blessed we are and how we need to be helping others in the world who are needing food, medicine and a way to go to school.
Also please check out the sites of those bloggers in Uganda this week: Randy Elrod , Chris Elrod , Carlos Whittaker , Heather Whittaker , Anne Jackson, Spence Smith - a complete listing can be found HERE .
Check out their flickr photo stream HERE .
I encourage you to prayerfully consider sponsoring a child through Compassion. It’s very easy to do… just click HERE .

I am sooo encouraged to read this, David!! You are blessed to be able to reach out to add support to a child who doesn’t have near the advantages we have … and it will be life-changing for your children, as well!!
And, Becky, thanks for your comment. I would love to figure a way (prayerfully, of course) to meet the child we support, Natanael in the the Dominican Republic. From what I have researched, it sounds too dangerous to visit solo without an experienced guide. However, I have more research to do … if you read this, could you describe how you have been able to visit your sponsored children? Thanks, Becky!!!

YAY!!!!! I’m so excited every time I read about someone deciding to sponsor.
I’ve met both my sponsored kids and there’s not a doubt in my mind it’s changing their lives.
